May 2019 – Prayer Letter

Dear Beloved Brethren,

Greetings and peace and love in the name of our eternal God, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As always, we thank our Lord Jesus Christ for taking us on this glorious journey, a journey of endless joy, speaking to our hearts, answering the call that He has given us and accepted the mission that is ahead of us to do His work according to His ways and will. Praise the Lord, this journey is almost at an end; we can see the light at the end of the tunnel but there are still some obstacles to go over.

As we keep on pressing on this glorious journey, the month of May has been slow and with my wife’s cataracts/astigmatism surgery; we were pretty much at a standstill. We were attending our home church and we had the opportunity to attend their mission conference from May 16 – 19; it was a blessing!

Regarding the property for the ministry and the land in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, the owner was trying to push us to make a decision, at that point we knew that it was not the will of God; perhaps the Lord will open the doors somewhere else in Costa Rica later on.

As we press on, please pray and continue to pray for the following prayer request:

PRAYERS

  • For wisdom and guidance as we are preparing the documents and for the Lord to guide us to the right people when we go back in November to submit them. At first it was a bit overwhelming, but now as we start gathering those documents , it does not seem that complicated but will take time.
  • Our health in order to work in His vineyard. My wife’s recuperation with the cataract/astigmatism surgery; by June 20th she will be back on tract according to the doctor.
  • We need a miracle for our support to be at 100% or more by the time we leave this year; we fervently pray for this to happen.God is able to make other miracles and we pray that He will; He is able, with Him nothing is impossible.

We pray and humbly plead for your help, for the Lord’s provision and what He will have you to do according to His will. All donations and funds should be sent to Macedonia World Baptist Missions (MWBM) under SHIPPING- TRAVEL ACCOUNT

  • Support Levels

Unfortunately, our support went down from 85% to 74% due to inflation and fees that the government has imposed in Costa Rica. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE… we need your help!

  • Safety with Travels

Pray that our Lord, God will keep on protecting us on the road.

  • Schedule of Meetings

Our schedule is not full, for now the Lord has blessed us with two more meetings in July, one mission conference and a meeting in October and another mission conference in November.

  • Softness of Attitudes

Pray that our hearts would stay soft, to have a humble attitude, to stay close to God, and focus on Him not on men neither our circumstances. Brethren, we are excited to see on how the Lord will be working this year, we are also encouraged and at the same time comforted by His provision, protection and peace.

PRAISES

  • Praise the Lord that my wife’s surgery went well.
  • Praise the Lord for His guidance to First Baptist Church of Liberia, Pastor Eliecer Robles Jimenez; he will be helping us by writing all the necessary letters and submit the documents to immigration which pertains to him.
  • Praise the Lord that Freedom Baptist Church of Fayetteville, NC, Pastor Paul Worley took us on for support.

Thank you, as always, for your kindness, compassion and love, but most of all for your sensibility to the Holy Spirit of God who dwells in you. We are deeply grateful for your continued prayers, financial support and being behind our vision to further the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you as well to all who started helping towards our passage.

Brethren, may the love of the Almighty God, the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you All. Amen!

April 2019 – Prayer Letter

Dear Beloved Brethren,

Greetings and peace and love in the name of our eternal God, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As always, we thank our Lord Jesus Christ for taking us on this glorious journey, a journey of endless joy, speaking to our hearts, answering the call that He has given us and accepted the mission that is ahead of us to do His work according to His ways and will. Praise the Lord, this journey is almost at an end; we can see the light at the end of the tunnel but there are still some obstacles to go over.

As we keep on pressing on this glorious journey, the month of April has been very productive and with many blessings and some obstacles. April 7th we attended a Mission Conference at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Salisbury, NC; unfortunately we could not stay for the whole conference because we had to leave for Costa Rica on the 9th of April. We were in Guanacaste, Costa Rica from the 9th through the 30th. The purpose of this trip was to start our paperwork for the visa, a place where we are going to live and the location for the ministry. Upon our arrival, the next day, we went to the immigration and Migration office in Liberia, Guanacaste to get the process started; we came across a stumbling block, all the Immigration laws have been changed about three to four years ago and made it very difficult to enter the country with a religious visa. With that being said, they gave us all the requirements to obtain the visa; after I read what they needed, my heart just dropped. First we have to filled out a form, for each one of us, with all kinds of questions with an application fee of 300.00 dollars in cash which has to be deposited in the Bank of Costa Rica in a special account, each additional page will also be charged for a fee of .25 cents per copy; a certified letter stating the reason why we are seeking a permanent residency; then we have to have a physical place to live in Guanacaste, Liberia, Costa Rica with a certified letter from the person or organization that own the residence; then other forms which required us to have a criminal background check for each one of us from the United States for the past three years; Finger prints that have to be taken at the Ministerio de Seguridad Pública in Costa Rica; then a certified letter from the corresponding consulate in Costa Rica; then a certified copy of each page of our passport with two pictures; then a certified copy of our birth certificate; then a national pastor who has to write a certified letter to the Immigration office stating that we belong to the congregation, the reason why we will be in the country and what we will be doing; also a certified copy of the religious association, not more than three months old; also a certificate copy of the religious association registered with the Ministry of Exterior Relations and Churches.  All those documents have to be signed, certified in front of a registered lawyer in Costa Rica and also all documents have to be translated into Spanish and certified. After submitting all those documents, there is a waiting period of nine months to a year and a half before getting back to us; but we can stay in the country working with the other pastor by planting churches and teaching in the institute according to the lawyer. The lawyer’s and translator’s fee could be about $500.00 to a $1,000.00 Dollars.

Now, on a better note, I had the privilege to preach three times at the church where we will be involved at, First Baptist Church of Liberia, Pastor Eliecer Robles Jimenez. Also, we did find a place to rent and the owner’s will allow us to take possession of the property in November of this year. When we move, it is more economical to buy a car in Costa Rica then bringing one from the US, it will not be cost effective because of the import taxes and it could be as high as the cost of the car itself. Buying a new car can be between $25K to 40K; it is expensive in Costa Rica about 1/3 higher than the US. Most Contractors import materials from the US vs. buying in CR. Our health, dental and vision can be as high as $900.00 dollars per month for both of us.

Regarding the place for the ministry (Church and Bible College & Seminary) there are two options (1) rent (2) buy. We have looked practically everywhere in the city of Liberia, Guanacaste for a place to rent, the majority of those places were not in good areas except for one which was in a good area of town, new 5,000 square
foot building with two floors, but the rent was astronomical at $6,000.00 dollars per month (it will be throwing money in the garbage); but the owner/builder offered us an option to buy and he will work with us even with financing, but financing will be sky high with the interest as high as 12.5% +/-, that is the going bank rate; so buying made more sense. The price to buy is about 100 to 110 dollars per square foot. I have checked the construction and it is to the US standards.

We pray that our supporting churches will get on board with us and make this to become a reality. The more churches we have involved, the lesser the burden. I will be doing my part toward the building construction of the interior spaces which includes AC. I have spoken to a few national pastors and they are excited about the Bible College and Seminary. I have already put together a curriculum for the Bible College and Seminary. See figures below and on the Pdf file.

Fig. 5 – Photo at 2nd Flr. looking at elevator & stairs

Fig. 6 – Photo Looking at stair and elevator at first floor

Looking at the space, on the first floor, we can fit about 50 to 100 people in the sanctuary with two classrooms; there are two existing restrooms, one utility room and one office. On the second floor (Bible Institute) we can have six classrooms, one large conference room; there are also two existing restrooms, one utility room, one kitchenette with dining area. There is a lot of potential in this place, the surrounding neighborhood is good and safe. This property will keep on increasing down the road. Costa Rica has become very expensive place to live due to the tourism. If we are debt free on the building, the only thing that we have to pay are the taxes about $350.00/mth and utilities about  $300.00/mth +/-.

Also, we looked at land for future project down the road approximately 84 Hectares (207.564 Acres) of which 30 Hectares (74.13 Acres) could be donated to us for the ministry ( I have been praying for this) but the rest we have to buy and is negotiable and could be financed; of those 84 Hectares, 24 of them has 4 residences on them which can be rented or sold down the road for a good profit, the price is about $10.00 per square meters/m2 ($10.00 per 10.764 square feet/ft2). We have all the information, pictures, survey and topographical plans for this property. We would be happy to come and share all this findings with all our supporting churches. This property is about five minutes from the Liberia airport and about 10 minutes from the center of Liberia. I have already designed the master plan and each building for this project which can be found on our website under Vision, except it will be in Liberia instead of Santa Cruz. Perhaps many are thinking that this is not possible, Beloved we have to have a vision for God; if God is in this, He will make it happen.

As we press on, please pray and continue to pray for the following prayer request:

PRAYERS

  • For wisdom and guidance as we are preparing the documents and for the Lord to guide us to the right people when we go back in November to submit them.
  • For the Lord to intervene regarding the property offer for the Church and the Bible College & Seminary and for churches to get involve.
  • For our vision down the road regarding the land.
  • Our health in order to work in His vineyard. My wife had a stomach virus in Costa Rica and lost a lot of weight. My wife’s cataracts surgery will be in May 20th.
  • As we keep stressing, it is our goal, Lord willing, to be on the field by the end of this year; we are trusting in God to make it happen. The Lord has blessed us with other meetings in July and Mission Conferences in October and November. We need a miracle for our support to be at 100% or more by the time we leave this year; we fervently pray for this to happen. God is able to make other miracles and we pray that He will; He is able, with Him nothing is impossible. He is good, so good!!

Beloved Brethren, Pastors and Churches, a lot of money is involved, but it takes money nowadays to make things happen, the more people that are involved, the lesser the burden will be. We pray and humbly plead for your help, for the Lord’s provision and what He will have you to do according to His will. We pray that the Holy Spirit of our Lord God will move your hearts regarding the property as well. All donations and funds should be sent to Macedonia World Baptist Missions (MWBM) under SHIPPING- TRAVEL ACCOUNT and BUILDING ACCOUNT.

  • Support Levels

We are still at 85%. We have not heard, yet, from the churches that we presented to last month. We pray that they will take us on for support, we earnestly need them.

  • Safety with Travels

Pray that our Lord, God will keep on protecting us on the road.

  • Schedule of Meetings

Our schedule is not full, for now the Lord has blessed us with three more meetings, two in July and one in October; one mission conference and a meeting in October and another mission conference in November.

  • Softness of Attitudes

Pray that our hearts would stay soft, to have a humble attitude, to stay close to God, and focus on Him not on men neither our circumstances; also for the churches that we have been in contact with and presented. Brethren, we are excited to see on how the Lord will be working this year, we are also encouraged and at the same time comforted by His provision, protection and peace.

PRAISES

  • Praise the Lord that He gave us a safe trip and His protection was upon us in Costa Rica.  God is not finished with us yet, He has big plans for us in Costa Rica. Phil. 1:6 always comes to mind: (1) Continue with Confidence (2) Continue with the Calling (3) Continue until Completion.
  • Praise the Lord for His guidance to the right people and right place while we in Costa Rica.
  • The Lord is so good in giving us our health, providing and protecting us while we are on the road, despite of setbacks while serving Him.

Praise the Lord for everything! To God be the Glory, great things He has done, that He is doing and what He will do as we focus our eyes and hearts upon Him.

Thank you, as always, for your kindness, compassion and love, but most of all for your sensibility to the Holy Spirit of God who dwells in you. We are deeply grateful for your continued prayers, financial support and being behind our vision to further the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. March 2019 – Prayer Letter

As we keep on pressing on this glorious journey, the month of March has been very productive and with many blessings. March 2nd we were at Iglesia Bautista Berea, Pastor Nelson Palacios, in Jacksonville, FL where we presented our ministry and I had the privilege to preach in Spanish as well. On March 6th through the 10th, we were at Central Baptist Church, Pastor Andy Bloom, in Ocala, FL for a Mission Conference with Dr. Scott Caudill our Mission Board Director. On March the 13th, we had a meeting in St. Pete, FL which was cancelled and we drove back to Georgia before heading to Fayetteville, NC for a Mission Conference at Freedom Baptist Church, Pastor Paul Worley, with our Mission Board Director again, from the 15th to the 18th of March. On March 20th, we were in Winston-Salem at Freeman Street Baptist Church, Pastor Brian Harrison, but unfortunately I could not speak because I had lost my voice, Pastor Harrison invited us back to present our ministry, the date is not set yet. On March 24th, we were at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Marion, NC, Pastor Tom Walker, where we presented our ministry and I had the privilege of preaching as well. From the 27th to the 30th, we were at Calvary Baptist Church in Norfolk, VA, Pastor Richard Smith for a Mission Conference. On Sunday the 31st of March, we were in Covington, GA for a meeting at Newton Baptist Church, Pastor Tony Howeth where we presented our ministry and I had the privilege to preach as well.

As we press on, please pray and continue to pray for the following prayer request:

PRAYERS

  • For wisdom and guidance as we are preparing to leave for Costa Rica, for the Lord to guide us to the right people and the right place.
  • We are in the process of speaking to the Migration and Immigration of Costa Rica; there is a lot of leg work to do and many papers to fill out.
  • Our health in order to work in His vineyard. My wife’s cataracts surgery will be in May.
  • We are need for a car, preferably a van, to keep going to finish deputation after we get back from Costa Rica; as mentioned in our previous prayer letters, my wife’s car was in a wreck and is totaled (that is what the insurance says but it is not) We are working with a body shop to get it fixed.
  • As we keep stressing, it is our goal, Lord willing, to be on the field sometime this year; we are trusting in Him to make it happen. the Lord has blessed us with other meetings in July and Mission Conferences in October and November. As mentioned earlier in the previous paragraph, we are planning to go in April to start our paperwork for the visa, check out the place where we are going to live, as well as the location for the ministry. We need a miracle for our support to be at 100% or more by the time we leave this year; we fervently pray for this to happen. God is able to make other miracles and we pray that He will; He is able, with Him nothing is impossible. He is good, so good!!
  • We would like to bring to the table of your hearts, again, the following needs. We know that we are repeating ourselves but it is very crucial. We have started to check on our passage expenses (flight, moving, governmental fees, rental for housing and ministry, etc. etc.); we don’t have a final number yet but from what we have gathered so far, it could cost up to Twenty Five Thousand Seven Hundred and Thirty Six Dollars, ($25,736.00) perhaps more, hopefully not.  So far, (1) for the flight, places to stay and the car rental (only from the 9th of April to the 30th) in order to mobilize when we are there will be about Four Thousand Three Hundred and Thirty Six Dollars for 21 Days ($4,336.00), that does not include food (Flight – $1,691.00 + Hotel – $1,323.00 + Car rental – $1,322.00.00/ Full coverage) these are the exact prices; we have paid for these already. (2) for the moving, door to door, it could be about Fourteen Thousand Dollars ($14,000.00), for a 40’ container, which includes one car but without the car it will be about 9K to 10K; (3) for governmental fees, taxes, etc. (Importation fees, Visa fees, it could be about Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00); (4) personal and ministry (rental of home and church building) about Five Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($5,400.00) which includes one month security deposit and one month rent.

Beloved Brethren, Pastors and Churches, this is a lot of money; we pray and humbly plead for your help, for the Lord’s provision and what He will have you to do according to His will. We pray that the Holy Spirit of our Lord God will move your hearts; all donations and funds should be sent to Macedonia World Baptist Missions (MWBM) under Shipping- Travel account.

  • Support Levels

Now we are at 85%, thanks the Lord for four more churches that took us on for support, Temple Baptist Church, Pastor Josh Boles in Lewisville, NC; Iglesia Bautista Berea, Pastor Nelson Palacios in Jacksonville, FL; Central Baptist Church, Pastor Andy Bloom, in Ocala, FL; Zion Hill Baptist Church, Pastor Tom Walker, in Marion, NC.  We have presented to three other churches as well (two conferences and one meeting), we pray that they will take us on for support, we need them.

  • Safety with Travels

Pray that our Lord, God will keep on protecting us on the road. The first Sunday of April, we will be in North Carolina for a Conference before we leave for Costa Rica on the 9th.

  • Schedule of Meetings

Our schedule is not full, for now the Lord has blessed us with two more meetings in July, one conference in October and the other in November.

  • Softness of Attitudes

February 2019 – Prayer Letter

Dear Beloved Brethren,

Greetings and peace and love in the name of our eternal God, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As always, we thank our Lord Jesus Christ for taking us on this glorious journey, a journey of endless joy, speaking to our hearts, answering the call that He has given us and accepted the mission that is ahead of us to do His work according to His ways and will.

As we keep on pressing on this glorious journey, the month of February did not start well. From the 2nd through the 13th, I was traveling alone in North Carolina in the area of Thomasville (Hilltop Baptist Church, Pastor W. Seawell), High Point (Woodlawn Baptist Church, Pastor J. Gentle), Kernersville (Luz del Evangelio, Pastor Bob Green and Welcome Door Baptist Church, Pastor Brian Taylor), Lexington (Currytown Baptist Church, Pastor M. McDaniel), and Rural Hall, (Freedom Baptist Church, Pastor Jon White). On Monday the 11th and Tuesday the 12th, I was invited by the Assistant Pastor of Freedom B C, Pastor Clint Fredericks to a Revival meeting at Kerwin Baptist Church in Kernersville where Pastor Kenny Baldwin of Crossroads Baptist Church in Falls Church, VA was speaking (they are one of our supporting churches). My wife had to stay behind due to our 22 year old Siamese cat because she was on her last days, good thing my wife stayed because on the 8th, the cat died. On the 13th, my wife was in a car accident and the car was totaled, Praise God she didn’t have to go to the hospital, but on the 14th, I was on my way back to pick her up for meetings with Calvary Baptist Church, Pastor Richard Smith, for their Couples Retreat on Friday the 15th and Saturday the 16th. On Saturday the 16th in the afternoon, we left Virginia to go back to North Carolina for meetings. On Sunday the 17th in the morning, we were at Meadowview Baptist Church, Pastor Robert Hutchens; I had the privilege to teach Sunday school, present our ministry and preach during the morning service. In the evening, we were at Trulite Baptist Church, Pastor Jerry Whiteheart, in High Point, NC where we presented our ministry. We were blessed by staying at Meadowview Baptist Church prophet chamber from the 16th through the 23rd before heading to Lewisville, NC at Temple Baptist Church, Pastor Joshua Boles where we presented our ministry on Sunday the 24th, I had the privilege to teach Sunday school, present and preach in the evening service. On Wednesday the 27th, we were in Jonesboro, GA at Harvest Baptist Church, Pastor Joe Arthur where we presented our ministry; on the 28th, we were at Tabernacle Baptist Church, a Spanish Church, Pastor Fernando Barrios in Jonesboro, GA where I preached and presented our ministry as well.

We will be leaving Georgia the 2nd of March for meetings and conferences in Florida, North Carolina and also in Virginia during the month of March then back to Virginia Beach for a week from April 1st to 5th , then go to Salisbury, NC for a mission conference at Tabernacle Baptist Church on the 6th  and 7th of April;  after the conference we leave for Costa Rica on the 9th of April through the 30th in order to find a place to live, the location for the ministry and to start all the paper work needed for our residency in Costa Rica. We pray that everything will go well, Lord willing, and if it does, we look forward to our move sometime in June or July 2019.

As we press on, please pray and continue to pray for the following prayer request:

Now we are at 76%, thanks to the Lord due to two more churches that took us on for support, Meadowview Baptist Church, Pastor Robert Hutchens, in Winston-Salem, NC and First Emmanuel Baptist Church, Pastor Rommel Callilung  in Chesapeake, VA. We pray that it will be more by our next prayer letter and for churches’ hearts to me moved.

  • Schedule of Meetings

Our schedule is almost full in March 2019, except for one Wednesday. November in North Carolina for one conference, if we are not in Costa Rica, hopefully we will be, Lord willing!

As always, we thank our Lord Jesus Christ for taking us on this glorious journey, a journey of endless joy, speaking to our hearts, answering the call that He has given us and accepted the mission that is ahead of us to do His work according to His ways and will.

Year 2018 is behind us and now Year 2019 is before us. It reminds me of Phillipians 3:13,14 where it says: “ … but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling God in Christ Jesus.” We are looking ahead for much brighter and bigger things that the Lord has for us this year.

As we keep on pressing on this glorious journey, the month of January has been very light, not much meetings. Most of Sunday and Wednesday evenings we were at our sending church Tabernacle Baptist Church. But on the 6th, in the morning, we visited Temple Baptist Church on Chesapeake, VA, Pastor Watson Morgan, who is their new pastor. On the 13th, we visited Ocean Park Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, VA, Pastor Marvin Bagent, for the first time; this particular Sunday was the second Sunday of Mission emphasis month. Pastor Bagent was very kind and graceful in allowing us to present our ministry and to speak; he also invited us back the following Sunday the 20th, It was truly a blessing on how the Lord directed us to this church.

On the 27th, we were invited to a retirement service of a pastor of which the church support us; the church is Biltmore  Baptist Church in Portsmouth, VA, Pastor Thorton Frye; he has been the pastor there for 66 years, what a blessing that was!

We are getting ready to leave February 2nd  for the next two months for meetings and conferences in North Carolina, Georgia, Florida and also in Virginia; then back to Virginia Beach for a week in the beginning of April, after we leave for Costa Rica on the 9th of April through the 30th in order to find a place to live, the location for the ministry and to start all the paper work needed for our stay in Costa Rica. We pray that everything will go well, Lord willing, and if it does, we look forward to our move sometime in June or July 2019.

As we press on, please pray and continue to pray for the following prayer request:

My wife’s cataracts surgery has been postponed for a later date, hopefully before we leave for good to Costa Rica.
  • As we keep stressing, it is our goal, Lord willing, to be on the field by June or July 2019. As mentioned earlier in the previous paragraph, we are planning to go in April to look for a place to live, as well as the location for the ministry. We need a miracle for our support to be at 100% or more by the time we leave. God is able to make other miracles and we pray that He will; He is able, with Him nothing is impossible. He is good, so good!!
  • We would like to bring to the table of your hearts the following needs. So far, (1) for the flight, places to stay and the car rental (only from the 9th of April to the 30th) in order to mobilize when we are there will be about Three Thousand Six hundred and Sixty Four Dollars for 21 Days ($3,664.00), plus or minus, that does not include food (Flight – $1,691.00 + Hotel – $1,323.00 + Car rental – $1,322.00.00/ Full coverage) these are the exact prices ; (2) for the moving, door to door, it could be about Fourteen Thousand Dollars ($14,000.00), for a 40’ container, which includes one car; (3) for governmental fees, taxes, etc.

We are still waiting on many churches and Lord willing plus the one we presented in January. Now, we are at 74%, thank the Lord for one more support.  We pray that it will be more by our next prayer letter and for churches’ hearts to me moved.

  • Safety with Travels

Pray that our Lord, God will keep on protecting us on the road. In February, we will be in North Carolina and Georgia; in March we will be in Florida, North Carolina, Georgia and Virginia; the first Sunday of April in North Carolina for Meetings and Conferences.

  • Schedule of Meetings

Our schedule is full for February and March 2019; November in North Carolina for one conference, if we are not in Costa Rica, hopefully we will be, Lord willing!

PRAISES

The Lord is so good in giving us our health, providing and protecting us while we are on the road, despite of setbacks while serving Him.

Brethren, may the love of the Almighty God, the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you All. Amen!

December 2018 – Prayer Letter

Dear Beloved Brethren,

Greetings and peace and love in the name of our eternal God, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

We have much to be grateful for during this Christmas season but not just for this season but all the time. First, we are so thankful to the Lord, God for sending His precious and only begotten Son, Jesus Christ as the first missionary to a lost and dying world, to suffer and die for us, ungrateful and undeserving as we are. Praise the Lord for the gift of the Holy Spirit who guides us, guard us and is such a Comforter in times of trials, tribulations, tests and tears.  Second, we thank the Lord for His precious Word and, finally, we have been privileged by God to serve Him according to His call upon our lives. What an honor and privilege to serve the King of kings, the Lord of lords, the Architect of all architects, the Carpenter of all carpenters our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! We pray that you will have a wonderful and blessed Christmas commemorating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and we pray, as well, that you will have a blessed, joyful and prosperous New Year in the Lord; and as we delight in the LORD, He will give us the desires of our hearts; and as we commit our ways to the LORD: trust in Him, He shall bring it to pass (Psalm 37: 4-5).

Lord, I lay my burden upon Thee because I know you’re there to carry them for me.

When in times of trials and tribulations, I know You’re there to sustain me.

Lord, I go to You because You give me rest despite of all my tests,

When in times of tests and temptations, I know You’re there to strengthen me,

Lord, I put my faith and trust in Thee because I know I’ll be blessed as You have promised.

When in times of cries and desperation, I know You’re there to comfort me,

Lord, I lean on You when I am not strong because I know with You I can’t go wrong,

When in times of tears and desolation, I know You’re there to walk with me.

Lord, I leave ev’ry thing up to Thee, I know You’re there to take vengeance for me.

When in times of fear and persecution, I know You’re there to protect me.

Lord, I know You’re there to sustain me, to strengthen me, to comfort me, to protect me and to walk with me;

Lord, I know You’ll always be there, no matter where! (Jean-Claude Guilbaud, 2018)

As always, we thank our Lord Jesus Christ for taking us on this glorious journey, a journey of endless joy, speaking to our hearts, answering the call that He has given us and accepted the mission that is ahead of us to do His work according to His ways and will.

As we keep on pressing on this glorious journey, the month of December was not as productive with conferences; we had two meetings cancelled due to a snow storm where we were. December 2nd, we went to Maranatha Baptist Church in Yorktown, VA, Pastor Dale Coffey, one of our supporting churches, in the morning to give them a report and in the evening we were at our sending church and as well on Wednesday December 5th. On Saturday December 8th, we headed to Evington, VA for meetings in the area but unfortunately the next day, Sunday, we had a big snow storm so we couldn’t go to our meetings in Rocky Mount, VA, Woodlawn Baptist Church, Pastor Eddie Hawks in the morning nor Liberty Baptist Church, Pastor Jeff Chapman, in Evington, VA in the evening. We have to reschedule for some other time, perhaps in January 2019. We were blessed by Liberty Baptist Church by allowing us to stay in their prophet chamber until the 17th. On Wednesday December 12th, we were at Southside Baptist Church, Pastor Donnie Glass, in Goodview, VA for a meeting. We were blessed as we presented our ministry, shared our vision and I had the honor to preach as well. On Sunday the 16th, in the morning, we were at Central Baptist Church, Pastor Larry Fitzgerald in Lynchburg, VA; we presented our ministry and shared our calling and vision as well. In the evening, we went to present our ministry at Clearview Baptist Church in Rustburg, VA Pastor Zane Kramer; we were blessed as we presented our ministry and I had the privilege to preach as well. On Wednesday December 19th, we were at our home church. On Sunday morning the 23rd, we went to Victory Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, VA, Pastor Les Smith, one of our supporting churches, to give them an update and in the evening we were back at home church; also on Wednesday the 26th and Sunday the 30th since we had no more meetings for the rest of the year.

As we press on, please pray and continue to pray for the following prayer request:

September 2018 – Prayer Letter

Dear Beloved Brethren,

Greetings and peace and love in the name of our eternal God, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As always, we thank our Lord Jesus Christ for taking us on this glorious journey, a journey of endless joy, speaking to our hearts, answering the call that He has given us and accepted the mission that is ahead of us to do His work according to His ways and will. We count it a privilege and an honor to serve the Kings of kings, the Lord of lords, the Architect of the Universe and the Carpenters of all carpenters Jesus Christ.

As we keep on pressing on this glorious journey, the month of September did not start well; I was again hospitalized for the same problem I had in March earlier this year. I was in Lynchburg, Virginia for meetings when that happened. It started Sunday the 2nd of September in the evening and did not feel well at all night long; then on Monday afternoon, my wife called Pastor Chapman’s mother- in- law of Liberty Baptist Church of Evington, VA; my blood pressure was 196/110 but I did not feel it because usually I will get dizzy. So the pastor came over immediately and brought me to the emergency room in Gretna, VA that afternoon; we were there until early Tuesday morning about 3:30AM after a CT Scan was made revealing that I had an obstruction in my small intestine. I was transferred to Lynchburg General Hospital for more test and observation. The chief surgeon wanted to do an incision in my upper stomach to detect the problem but he decided to wait after more tests, x-rays and a tube in my nose going down through my esophagus and my stomach (that was not fun, from past experience). Thursday morning, more test and x-rays for 4 hours on that cold metal table; 2 ½ hours into this ordeal, another x-ray was made revealing that the barium did not go all the way down to my rectum (not a good sign) but the Radiologist decided to wait another hour to see of it will go through and it did – I tell you, I shouted Hallelujah because I did not want to go through that operation; but the radiologist said that he will give all results to the surgeon and he will decide what to do next. Early Friday morning came to give me the results and those were his words “we have found no abnormalities, we don’t understand it and for us it is a mystery” Well, I knew it was God intervening; the doctors did their jobs and God finished it; again I shouted Praise the Lord! Believe me I was praying all that time because I needed to be in Walterboro, SC for a meeting on the 9th at Welch Creek Baptist Church, Pastor James H. Baker; we left Saturday morning for that meeting, a 6 hour drive and we presented on Sunday and I preached on Sunday night, after the service the church voted to take us on for support ( by the way I had to cancel two conferences when I was in the hospital, one with Jackson County Baptist Church in Jefferson, GA, Pastor Jack Lawson and the other one with Berean Baptist Church in Ellenwood, GA, Pastor Alan Sinclair).

Beside all this, this month was still a blessing seeing on how God works in the lives of His children despite of setbacks and circumstances; I am always reminded of Romans 8:28, praise the Lord for His promises and faithfulness!

On the 10th we drove back to Virginia Beach for follow up appointment with doctors and dentist. We went to home church on Wednesday the 12th but it was cancelled due to the hurricane, Sunday the 16th and Wednesday the 19th we were at our home church. On Friday we headed down to Georgia for a meeting at Harvest Baptist Church, Pastor Joe Arthur, which was on Sunday the 23rd, what a blessing this visit was; Pastor Arthur ask us to come back sometime during the last week of October. This same Sunday, while we were going to the service that Sunday evening, the van that we borough stopped on the road, someone at the church had to come to get us, after the evening service, the van was towed to a mechanic that goes to the church until it could be fixed the next day; well come to find out, the alternator was bad and one of the belt as well. Praise the Lord, the church paid for all the repairs and the oil change. What a blessing! When we do the Lord’s work with a pure and sincere heart, He always takes care of His children.

Then on the 25th we headed to Tampa, FL for a Mission Conference at West Gate Baptist Church, Pastor George Pirt, until the 30th. What a blessing this conference was! Praise the Lord, the Church took us on for support at the end of the Conference. On Monday October 1st we drove to Georgia for one evening before heading to Virginia Beach the next day to get ready to leave again on the 5th of October for Mission Conferences and Meetings of which we will get into more details in our next prayer letter.

We continue praising the Lord for His protection (physical and spiritual) and provision (He knows all our needs) as well as the wisdom that He gives us to do His work. We also praise the Lord that He continues to give us our health so we can serve Him with all the strength that He gives us, to adore Him in spirit and in truth with all our hearts, and to glorify Him in everything that we do, even in sickness and circumstances. The Lord is so Good!

As we press on, please pray and continue to pray for the following prayer request:

PRAYERS

  • As we mentioned in our last prayer letter, we urgently are in need of a minivan to finish our deputation journey. Someone was gracious enough to lend us one until December 2nd but we will need another one to keep going until we leave for Costa Rica before next summer, Lord willing.
  • We need another miracle regarding these new hospital and doctors’ bills. We don’t know how much yet.
  • My wife’s physical need with her blood circulation and my health as well as we traveled. This is the very reason why we need to be on the field by the end of spring 2019; time is of the essence!

As we keep stressing, it is our goal, Lord willing, to be on the field by June 2019. We are planning to go, probably, next February to look for a place to live, as well the property for the ministry, and Lord willing move sometime in the spring, before summer. We need this miracle for our support of be 100% or more by next May 2019. God is able to make other miracles and we pray that He will; He is able, with Him nothing is impossible. He is good, so good!!

  • We pray that the Lord will move the hearts of His people to make this happen. We humbly plead to all the churches we have presented, and not supporting us at the moment, to pray, and reconsider in encouraging and partnering with us to proclaim the Good News of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by planting New Testament Baptist Churches, establishing Baptist Bible College and Christian Academy.

Beloved Brethren, this is God’s work and His ministry not ours; we are servants doing the work of the Almighty God and obeying the Great Commission by Answering the Call and Accepting the Mission that is ahead of us. We are leaving everything behind and renouncing everything for the Gospel’s sake and focusing on what is ahead so we can give glory to our eternal God, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; for Him only!

  • Support Levels

Continue to pray as we are on this glorious deputation journey that the Lord will guide us to the right church and have favor along the way in order to obtain our support as soon as possible according to the Lord’s will. Two more churches took us on for support this month; Welch Creek Baptist Church in Walterboro, SC, Pastor James H. Baker and West Gate Baptist Church in Tampa, FL, Pastor George Pirt. As of now, we are at 70%. We pray that it will more by our next prayer letter. Praise the Lord! We keep pressing on that goal for our minds, our hearts and our spirit are in Costa Rica but our bodies are still here. Our Lord is a Sovereign God!

  • Safety with Travels

Pray that our Lord, God would protect us on the road.

In October we will be in North Carolina and Georgia for Meetings and Mission Conferences; November in North Carolina and Georgia for Meetings and Mission Conferences; in December, Praise the Lord, we have three meetings in Virginia (answer to prayers).

  • Schedule of Meetings

Pray that our schedule will be full with formal meetings and conferences for the rest of the year, some of them have been cancelled but the Lord Has blessed with others. The Lord has blessed with meetings and conferences in VA, NC, SC, GA and FL. Our schedule is not full, but praise the Lord for what He is doing in our lives. He is in control! For now, the Lord is still opening doors for more meetings and conferences in these states and more meetings and conferences for next March and November 2019 in Florida and North Carolina (if we are not in Costa Rica).

  • Softness of Attitudes

Pray that our hearts would stay soft, to have a humble attitude, to stay close to God, and focus on Him not on men neither our circumstances; also for the churches that we have been in contact with and presented. We are excited to see on how the Lord will be working during the rest of the year, we are also encouraged and at the same time comforted by His provision, protection and peace. Praise the Lord for everything! To God be the Glory, great things He has done, that He is doing and what He will do as we focus our eyes and hearts upon Him.

PRAISE

The Lord is so good in giving us our health, providing and protecting us while we are on the road, despite of setbacks, serving Him.

Psalms 37:4-5 says: “Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”

Thank you for your kindness, compassion and love, but most of all for your sensibility to the Holy Spirit of God whom dwells in you. We are deeply grateful for your continued prayers, financial support and being behind our vision to further the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Brethren, may the love of the Almighty God, the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you All. Amen!

August 2018 – Prayer Letter

Dear Beloved Brethren,

Greetings and peace and love in the name of our eternal God, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As always, we thank our Lord Jesus Christ for taking us on this glorious journey, a journey of endless joy, speaking to our hearts, answering the call that He has given us and accepted the mission that is ahead of us to do His work according to His ways and will. We count it a privilege and an honor to serve the Kings of kings, the Lord of lords, the  Architect of the Universe and the Carpenters of all carpenters Jesus Christ.

As we keep on pressing on this glorious journey, the month of August has been a blessing and productive as well, even though we did not have many formal meetings but Praise the Lord anyway. On Wednesday the 1st of August, we visited White Horse Height Baptist Church in Greenville, SC, Pastor Scott Dean. Pastor Dean was very gracious in allowing us to share our calling, vision and burden for Costa Rica; at the end of the service, the church voted to partner with us. It was truly a blessing; we are always expecting the unexpected from God! On Sunday the 5th of August in the morning, we visited Gospel Baptist Church in Greenville, SC, Pastor Joseph Willis. Pastor Willis was very gracious in allowing us to present our ministry, share our vision and burden.  In the evening we went to Zion Hill Baptist Church, Pastor Danny Moore, one of our supporting churches to give an update. We were blessed, as always, to stay at Zion Hill prophet chamber from the 31st of July through August the 7th before heading to Wilson, NC for a Mission Conference at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Pastor Joe Shakour from the 8th of August through the 13th; what a blessing this conference was! From what we gathered, the church voted to take us on for support as well. Praise the Lord!

On the 14th, we headed for home in Virginia Beach and we have been there until the 25th of August, visiting our supporting churches, before going to Evington and Lynchburg, VA for meetings. While we were in Virginia Beach, we attended our home church on Wednesday the 15th and Sunday morning the 19th; in the evening of the 19th, we went to Biltmore Baptist Church in Portsmouth, VA, Pastor Thornton Frye, to give them of update. On Wednesday the 29th, we went to Good News Baptist Church in Chesapeake, VA, Pastor Marvin Tobin to give them an update as well.  On the 25th, we headed to Evington, VA for a meeting at Liberty Baptist Church, Pastor Jeff Chapman and on Sunday the 26th, I had the privilege to preach and share our ministry in the morning and evening service; What a blessing!  On Wednesday the 29th, we visited Baptist Tabernacle of Altavista in Altavista, VA, Pastor Jon Ensley, we had the opportunity to present our ministry and I had the privilege to preach as well, it was an unexpected blessing. On Thursday the 30th, we visited Jordan Baptist Church in Lynchburg, VA, Pastor Melvin Campbell; Pastor Campbell was very gracious in allowing us to present our ministry and I also had the privilege to preach, this was also another unexpected blessing, the Lord is so good. On Friday the 31st we were invited to attend a Revival Tent Meeting at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, VA, Pastor Eddie Hawks where Pastor Chapman preached one night, and as result of that invitation and meeting we have made many contacts. Pastor Hawks invited us to come back in December to formally present our ministry, the date is to be determined.  Praise the Lord! We were in Evington, VA until the 6th of September visiting and presenting to churches while we stayed at Liberty Baptist Church’s prophet chamber.

As we press on, please pray and continue to pray for the following prayer request

PRAYERS

  • As we mentioned in our last prayer letter, we urgently are in need of a minivan to finish our deputation journey. After much prayers and supplication, the Lord made it clear to us not to buy one because of additional bills that we will have; (we must be good steward of the money that God gives us) instead, better to wait on God’s people to lend us one.
  • My wife’s physical need with her blood circulation as we traveled. It is very serious! This is the very reason why we need to be on the field by the end of spring 2019; time is of the essence!
  • It is our goal, Lord willing, to be on the field between January and June 2019. We are planning to go next January or February to look for a place to live, as well the property for the ministry, and Lord willing move sometime in the spring, before summer. We pray that the Lord will move the hearts of His people to make this happen.

Four more churches took us on for support this month; White horse Height Baptist Church in Greenville, SC, Pastor Scott Dean, Calvary Baptist Church in Lexington, SC, Pastor Steve Cummins and Tabernacle Baptist Church in Wilson, NC, Pastor Joe Shakour; Liberty Baptist Church in Evington, VA, Pastor Jeff Chapman. Unfortunately, we received word from one of our supporting churches that they were having difficulties at the moment, sadly they had to stop our support temporarily and because of that, we are at 66% instead of 67%. We pray that it will go back up by our next prayer letter. In any way, Praise the Lord! We keep pressing on that goal for our minds, our hearts and our spirit are in Costa Rica but our bodies are still here. Our Lord is a Sovereign God!

  • Safety with Travels

Pray that our Lord, God would protect us on the road.

In September we will be in Virginia and South Carolina for meetings, Georgia and Florida for Mission Conferences; October in North Carolina, Georgia and Florida for Meetings and Mission Conferences; November in North Carolina and Georgia for Meetings and Mission Conferences; in December, it’s still open but a possibility to have a meeting in South Carolina and Georgia.

PRAISE

Today is August 21st and as I was writing this prayer letter, getting a heads up and getting ready to leave this Saturday for Evington, VA. We received a call from one of our supporting churches announcing to us that they have a van that we can use until the first week of December. We were exceedingly rejoicing as tears of joy were coming down from our cheeks, to see the faithfulness and greatness of God in providing for His children, especially when we obey Him doing His will. The Lord gave us exactly what we were looking for. The answer to our prayers came at the last minute unexpectedly, waiting patiently on God. We must always expect the unexpected from God! God always steps in at the last minute. Praise the Lord!!! When our hearts are right with God and His will coincides with ours, He gives us the desires of our hearts. Psalms 37:4-5 says: “Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”

I received news from the doctors, there was a bill for 382.00 dollars of which the medical insurance paid in full. Praise the Lord, Hallelujah! He has answered our prayers. But I still have a previous outstanding bill for an MRI of $400.00 dollars (at the moment of which I am still paying) from before when I was in Virginia earlier this year, in regards to the same problem, before I was admitted at Greenville Memorial Health System in March. We need one other miracle, our support of 100% or more by next May 2019. God is able to make other miracles and we pray that He will; He is able, with Him nothing is impossible. He is good, so good!!

Amen!
