November/December 2015  Prayer  Letter

Dear Brethren,

Greetings and peace in the name of our eternal God, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As always, we thank our Lord Jesus Christ for taking us on this glorious journey, a journey of endless joy, speaking to our hearts and answering the call that he has given us, to do His work according to His ways and will.

During these past two months we have been on the road in and out of Virginia. The Lord has blessed us with Meetings in Georgia and Virginia. We had the privilege of speaking and presenting our work to Calvary Harvest Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Georgia; Peachtree Road Baptist Church in Suwanee, Georgia and visiting other churches in Flowery, Georgia. We also presented our work to Grace Baptist Church in Norfolk, Virginia and New Hope Baptist Church in Gloucester, Virginia as well as visiting other churches to introduce ourselves. We greatly rejoiced amongst the brethren as we were blessed. Praise the Lord for His goodness, mercy and grace. Pictures can be seen on our Facebook page Jean-Claude and Matilde Guilbaud – Missionaries to Costa Rica

We praise the Lord, as always, for His protection (physical and spiritual) and provision, as well as the wisdom that He gives us to do His work. We also praise the Lord that He gives us good health so we can serve Him with all our strength, to adore Him in spirit and in truth with all our hearts, and to glorify Him in everything that we do. The Lord is Good!

As we press on, continue to pray for the following prayer request but one in particular, my wife’s physical need with her varicose veins and blood circulation as we traveled.

  • Support Levels

Pray as we are on full time deputation that the Lord will guide us to the right church and have favor along the way in order to obtain our support, so we can arrive on the field by December 2017 or sooner. As of now, we are about 14%. We are waiting on many churches with their decisions as we pray for God’s will.

  • Safety with Travels

Pray that our Lord, God would protect us on the road. We will be in the Blue Ridge Mountains in January.

  • Schedule of Meetings

Pray that our schedule will be fill for next year. So far the Lord has blessed with other meetings in VA, Washington DC, GA, NC and NYC.   Our schedule is not full. Praise the Lord for what He is doing, He is in control!

  • Softness of Attitudes

Pray that our hearts would stay soft, to have a humble attitude, to stay close to God, and focus on Him. Also for the churches that we have been in contact with.

It has been a great and wonderful year. To God  be the Glory, great things He has done, that He is doing and what He will do as we focus our eyes and hearts upon Him.

Thank you for your faithful prayers, kindness and love, but most of all for your sensitivity to the Holy Spirit of God whom dwells in you.

The Lord has blessed us with Meetings in New York City and Virginia. We had the privilege of speaking and presenting our work to the First Independent Baptist Spanish Church in Brooklyn, NY; the church is more than 85 years old; the church was blessed to have two pastors for all these years, the father and the son; it was a time of rejoicing and refreshing in the Word and amongst the brethren. Praise the Lord! Pictures can be seen on our Facebook page Jean-Claude and Matilde Guilbaud – Missionaries to Costa Rica. I also had the privilege, after 30 years to speak to the pastor whom the Lord used; to answer the call, to have the passion and the burning desire to preach the word of God and become a minister of the gospel, he is retired now; but I did speak to the new pastor and he wants us to come to New York City and share what we have been and are doing in the ministry. What a blessing! The church has grown since then, in Queens, and has a sister church in the Bronx.

As we press on, continue to pray for the following prayer request and a special one. We had to come back earlier to Virginia  due to my wife’s urgent need to see a doctor for her varicose veins, it has gotten worse because of sitting too long in the same position in the car.

  • Support Levels

Pray as we are on full time deputation that the Lord will guide us to the right church and have favor along the way in order to obtain our support, so we can arrive on the field by December 2017 or sooner.

Last year, 2014 was a year to remember with many blessings. We were accepted as missionaries with World Wide New Testament Baptist Mission, went to our survey trip, blessed with three churches that took us on for support, visited many churches, we were blessed with the announcement of our 8th grand child by our daughter. Beside the joy of receiving these blessings, we were also saddened by the parting away of my father on December 31st, 2014.

Now a new year is ahead of us continuing on this glorious journey, pressing on the work that is ahead of us, trusting in the Lord with our hearts opened to serve Him, focusing our eyes and our hearts on him, leaning on Him for strength and courage, and depending on His Holy Spirit for guidance.

We praise the Lord that He has given us another year for the sole purpose of serving Him with all our strength, to adore Him in spirit and in truth with all our hearts, and to glorify him in everything that we do. The Lord is Good!!

We are being blessed with many Meetings and Mission Conferences throughout the year. So far we have had meetings in Virginia and more to follow until the latter part of April.

November 2014 Prayer Letter

November 2014 Prayer Letter

Dear Brethren,

Greetings and peace in the name of our eternal God, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As always, we thank our Lord Jesus Christ for taking us on this glorious journey, a journey of endless joy, speaking to our hearts and answering the call that he has given us, to do His work according to His ways and will.

Finally on November 20, 2014, the Lord allowed us to go on our survey trip to Costa Rica; a long and waited trip with anticipation as the Lord was preparing the way. We spent 16 days exploring the country and the Lord blessed us grandly. We saw the hands of the Lord’s protection over us, seeing many being sick with the virus of Dengue, we did not get it; we were warned not to drink of the water but we did and nothing happened to us. We also saw the Lord’s protection while taking the buses throughout the country, especially through the mountains, we saw many trucks that were turned over on the side of the road but God was with us. The Lord provided shelter and food from one place to another. We were also blessed by meeting many missionaries serving in Costa Rica for many years, seeing what they were doing. We also met many national pastors as they also open their hearts to us and were willing to help in every way they could. As a matter of fact, one national pastor and his wife have been praying for someone like us to come and help them.

Unfortunately, we were not able to visit all the places that the Lord laid on our hearts, especially in Guanacaste. Perhaps we may have to take another trip to explore those areas and other ones that the Lord laid on our hearts before we make final decision; praying on what the Lord will have us to do and where as we allow His Holy Spirit to lead us in the right path of righteousness so we won’t make mistake.

We praise the Lord that another church took us on as they are willing to support us starting January 2015. The Lord is Good!!

Continue to pray for the following prayer request:

  • Softness of Attitudes

During these two months, the Lord has been taking us through a process, a process which cannot be followed without the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Lord is continuing to prepare the way for our survey trip to Costa Rica which will take place from November 20 through December 6, 2014. We had our first Mission Conference this year, it was a blessing. We are being blessed with meetings for next year and by our continued communication with three missionary families and a national pastor in Costa Rica as they are willing to help us when we go there. We were invited to a Thanksgiving get together where all the missionaries to Costa Rica will be gathering. What a blessing!!

We want to give you an update of where we are regarding our support levels for the survey trip. As previously mentioned, we needed a minimum $3,280.00 dollars for our needs which included the airfare (round trip), Lodging and meals, Airport transportation, Fee to leave the country, Transportation around the country and for Miscellaneous items. Praise the Lord, our financial needs are met. The Lord is good and always good. To God be the Glory!! The Lord knows our hearts and the desires of our hearts.
