What a blessing, Glory to God, Praise the Lord, Praise His Holy Name!!

We continue praising the Lord for His protection (physical and spiritual) and provision (He knows all our needs) as well as the wisdom that He gives us to do His work. We also praise the Lord that He gives us our health so we can serve Him with all our strength, to adore Him in spirit and in truth with all our hearts, and to glorify Him in everything that we do. The Lord is Good!

As we press on, please continue to pray for the following prayer request, my wife’s physical need with her varicose veins and blood circulation as we traveled. Also a special request, we need to be on the field by January 2019, Lord willing. We pray that the Lord will move the hearts of His people to make this happen. We humbly plead to all the churches we have presented, and not supporting us at the moment, to pray, consider and reconsider in encouraging us with support.

  • Support Levels

Continue to pray as we are on this deputation journey that the Lord will guide us to the right church and have favor along the way in order to obtain our support as soon as possible according to the Lord’s will. Carolina Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC; Corinth Baptist Church in Loganville, GA took us on for support and also an anonymous supporter.  As of now, with the new supports, we are about 40%. Praise the Lord!! Our minds, our hearts and our spirits are in Costa Rica but our bodies are still here. Our Lord is a sovereign, omniscient and omnipotent God.

March April – 2017 Prayer Letter / pdf

Dear Brethren,

Greetings and peace in the name of our eternal God, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As always, we thank our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for taking us on this glorious journey, a journey of endless joy, speaking to our hearts, answering the call, that He has given us and accepted the mission that is ahead of us to do His work according to His ways and will.

During these past two months, it has been very light, not too many meetings; visiting churches and we had another mission conference at Calvary Baptist Church in Smithfield, VA (Pastor Dan Gray) from April 19-23, 2017. Apart from that we had no other meetings, nor conferences; we have been going through some rough waters, but praise the Lord even during this time, He is still in control and He also understands us. He knows what He is doing as always. As I mentioned in our previous prayer letter, God is in control and He keeps reminded me over and over again of Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are the called, according to His purpose”. Praise the lord, we are back on track! We are trying as much as possible to obey and be faithful to Him under the guidance and empowerment of the Holy Spirit of the Lord, God.

We continue to praise the Lord, as always, for His protection (physical and spiritual) and provision ( He knows all our needs) as well as the wisdom that He gives us to do His work.

I thank you again for your prayers regarding the tendon on my left heel, it is healed; but sometimes I still have a hard time standing too long especially on hard surface.  I am still using those special kind of shoes every now and than, but praise the Lord!

  • Support Levels

Continue to pray as we are on this deputation journey that the Lord will guide us to the right church and have favor along the way in order to obtain our support. As of now, we are about 32%, Praise the Lord! Calvary Baptist Church took us on for support.  Our minds, our hearts and our spirits are in Costa Rica but our bodies are still here. Our Lord is a sovereign God.

  • Safety with Travels

Pray that our Lord, God would protect us on the road. As we mentioned in our previous letter, we were planning to go to Costa Rica the latter of May 2017 but the Lord had other plans. We are going to be on the road from May 12 through August 17, 2017. We will be in Alpharetta, Covington, Stockbridge and McDonough, Georgia through June 7, then we will heading to West Columbia, Columbia, Lexington, Laurens, Conestee, Spartanburg, Simpsonville, Taylors and Greenville, Walterboro, North Charleston, Goose Creek and Charleston, South Carolina until the 17th of August. During that time, we have meetings and as well we will be visiting churches.

  • Schedule of Meetings

Pray for more meetings for the rest of the year, trying to contact churches and pastors. Our schedule is not full, but praise the Lord for what He is doing in our lives. He is a sovereign God!

  • Softness of Attitudes

Pray that our hearts would stay soft, to have a humble attitude, to stay close to God, and to  focus on Him, not on our circumstances and on men.  Also for the churches and pastors that we have been in contact with.

Praise the Lord for everything! To God be the Glory, great things He has done, that He is doing and what He will do as we focus our eyes and hearts upon Him.

Thank you so very much for your faithful prayers, kindness and love, but most of all for your sensitivity to the Holy Spirit of God Whom dwells in you.

Dear Brethren,

Greetings and peace in the name of our eternal God, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As always, we thank our Lord Jesus Christ for taking us on this glorious journey, a journey of endless joy, speaking to our hearts, answering the call that He has given us and accepted the mission that is ahead of us to do His work according to His ways and will.

During these past two months, it has been very light, not too many meetings; we only had a mission conference at Trinity Baptist Church in Wilson, NC (Pastor Mike Renfrow) during the first week of January. Apart from that we had no other meetings, nor conferences due to the sole reason that my wife has been sick with a severe case of bronchitis and has developed COPD; with that being said, we couldn’t go anywhere. She is slowly recuperating and we are planning to get back on the road again, soon. There is not much that we can say in this prayer letter but to pray for us and especially for my wife so she would not have a relapsed; the doctor said it will take some time for her to fully recover. But praise the Lord even during this time, He knows what He is doing as always. As I mentioned in our previous prayer letter, God is in control and reminded me again of Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are the called, according to His purpose”.

We are still praying for the other churches that we presented to partner with us, with God nothing is impossible.  Our minds, our hearts and our spirits are in Costa Rica but our bodies are still here. Our Lord is a sovereign God.

  • Safety with Travels

Pray that our Lord, God would protect us on the road. Pray as we are planning to go to Costa Rica the latter of May 2017 according to the Lord’s will to pinpoint where the Lord wants us in Santa Cruz, Guanacaste to establish Guanacaste Baptist Church and Ministries.

  • Schedule of Meetings

Pray for more meetings for the coming year, trying to contact churches and pastors. So far the Lord has blessed us with a Mission Conference at Calvary Baptist Church in Smithfield, Virginia in April. Our schedule is not full, but praise the Lord for what He is doing, He is a sovereign God!

During these past two months, it has been very light, not too many meetings; just visiting churches that are supporting us and others to introduce ourselves, as well as calling pastors for meetings; but in November, we had a meeting at Calvary Baptist Church in New Bern, NC, Pastor Bill Wingard; it was a blessing, the church was excited for us. It was a bit discouraging when these two meetings were cancelled but the Lord knows what He is doing as always, due to these cancellation, my wife got very sick, it started with the flu than developed into bronchitis in both lungs since the beginning of December until now, she is slowly recuperating; not only that, one of our son’s was diagnosed with cancer during Thanksgiving and is under treatment and needed our support and help. July – August – 2016 Prayer Letter

During the month of July we had meetings and conference in Northern Virginia and New York City.  The conference took place at Crossroads Baptist Church on July 2nd through the 6th, Pastor Kenny Baldwin and the meetings in New York City in Brooklyn at Grace Baptist Church, Pastor Rob Sundholm in the morning and at Family Baptist Church, Pastor Rick Georges in the afternoon of July the 10th. On July 15th, we were at Primera Iglesia Bautista del Hablar Hispana in Brooklyn, Pastor David Acevedo in the evening. On Sunday the 17th of July, we were at Heritage Baptist Church, Pastor Matthew Recker in Manhattan. While in New York City, we made contact with a pastor in Long Island, Pastor Sergio Ali, he is from Costa Rica with a possible meeting later during year, perhaps in December. After the 17th of July, we went back to Virginia at our home church, Tabernacle Baptist Church since we had no other meetings. In August, we had a meeting in Newport News, Virginia at New Covenant Baptist on the 14th,  Pastor Steve Mayo. Pastor Mayo was a student and graduated from Tabernacle Baptist College and theological Seminary in the late Eighties. It was truly  a blessing to see other colleagues still serving the Lord.  Amen, Glory to God! When we had no meetings, we went back to the churches that are supporting us to give them an update of where we are and what we are doing. We were very much blessed by all of them. Praise the Lord for God’s people!

In May, we had a mission conference in Salisbury, North Carolina that was cancelled at the last minute and rescheduled  for  September. This conference has been cancelled again until further notice. We have been invited to participate in another Mission Conference at Sweethaven Baptist Church, Pastor Cory Korbert, in October. The Lord is in control and His Holy Spirit is guiding us.

We praise the Lord, as always, for His protection (physical and spiritual) and provision ( He knows all our needs) as well as the wisdom that He gives us to do His work. We also praise the Lord that He gives us our health so we can serve Him with all our strength, to adore Him in spirit and in truth with all our hearts, and to glorify Him in everything that we do. Two other churches took us on for support since then.  As of now, we are about 26%, an 8% increase since we left Virginia in May. Praise the Lord! We are praying for those churches that we presented in New York City to partner with us, if they do we could be about 30%.We are still waiting on many churches with their decisions as we pray for God’s will. The months of May and June have been very productive. During the month of May we had two meetings, one at Bible Baptist Church in Chesapeake, VA and one at Harbor Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC; at the end of the service Harbor Baptist Church voted and took us on for support. In May, we had a mission conference in Salisbury, North Carolina that was cancelled at the last minute and rescheduled  for  September. As a result of this cancellation, we had to go to Georgia a week earlier but we had no meetings in view for that week. Upon our arrival in Georgia, we prayed and asked the Lord which church do you want us to go; He led us to Lilburn Oaks Baptist Church that Wednesday but the church was closed, ( we went to another church that evening – Calvary Baptist Church) we didn’t give up, we returned on Sunday and the church received us with open heart; the pastor ask us to share briefly our testimony and as a result the pastor ask us to come back for a formal presentation on June 1st, after the service the church decided to take us on for support; just imagine if we had given up and not gone back, we would have missed an opportunity and a blessing from the Lord by not obeying Him and to let His Spirit guide us. Praise the Lord for His faithfulness and goodness towards us when we walk by faith. We visited other churches as well when we were in Georgia until June 5th.  As a result of visiting those churches we were blessed with two meetings for later in the year and also for next year.  On June 8th we had a meeting at Faith Baptist Church in Shelby, NC giving them an update of where we are as they are already supporting us. On June 12th, we had a meeting at Maranatha Baptist Church in Shelby, NC, the church will pray about supporting us in the near future.  The Lord is in control and His Holy Spirit is guiding us.

We also had the privilege to assist the 46th Annual World Wide New Testament Baptist Mission Family Fellowship Week 2016 ( WWNTBM FFW16) at Valley Baptist Church in Edinburg, Virginia, Pastor Chad Estep. It was a time of refreshing, rejoicing in the Word and as well with the brethren. It was our third one, we were greatly blessed.

The Lord is Good!

As we press on, please continue to pray for the following prayer request, my wife’s physical need with her varicose veins and blood circulation as we traveled.

  • Support Levels

Continue to pray as we are on this deputation journey that the Lord will guide us to the right church and have favor along the way in order to obtain our support, so we can arrive on the field by December 2017 or sooner according to the Lord’s will. When we were on the road, we received word that  two other churches took us on for support in VA. As of now, we are about 24%, a 6% increase. Praise the Lord! We are still waiting on many churches with their decisions as we pray for God’s will. When and if those support comes, we will be about 44%, Lord willing at the end of this year. Our minds, our hearts and our spirits are in Costa Rica but our bodies are still here. Our Lord is a sovereign God.

  • Safety with Travels

Pray that our Lord, God would protect us on the road. We will be traveling to Washington, DC on the 2nd of July through the 7th  and to New York City from the 8th of July through the 18th for meetings.

  • Schedule of Meetings

Pray that our schedule will be fill for the rest of this year. So far the Lord has blessed with other meetings in VA and NC. Our schedule is not full, but praise the Lord for what He is doing, He is in control!

  • Softness of Attitudes

Pray that our hearts would stay soft, to have a humble attitude, to stay close to God, and focus on Him. Also for the churches that we have been in contact with.

Praise the Lord for everything! To God  be the Glory, great things He has done, that He is doing and what He will do as we focus our eyes and hearts upon Him.

Thank you for your faithful prayers, kindness and love, but most of all for your sensitivity to the Holy Spirit of God whom dwells in you.

Dear Brethren,

Greetings and peace in the name of our eternal God, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As always, we thank our Lord Jesus Christ for taking us on this glorious journey, a journey of endless joy, speaking to our hearts and answering the call that he has given us, to do His work according to His ways and will.

The months of March and April have not been too productive as we were both very sick. During the month of March we had a Mission Conference at Temple Baptist Church in Chesapeake, VA as well visited other churches. In April two of our meetings were cancelled and were rescheduled  for some time in July and September, and we visited other churches as well. As a result of visiting those churches we were blessed with meetings. One of the church that we visited in April, the pastor allowed us to share our testimony and He wants us to go back for a formal presentation in July; some of the other churches, meetings were set for some time later during the year and the Lord blessed us with our first Mission Conference for next year. The Lord is in control and His Holy Spirit is guiding us.

We received a love gift from the church where we had the Mission Conference, that love gift was an unexpected  blessing. Praise the Lord for His goodness, mercy and grace. Pictures can be seen on our Facebook page Jean-Claude and Matilde Guilbaud – Missionaries to Costa Rica.

January/ February 2016  Prayer  Letter

Dear Brethren,

Greetings and peace in the name of our eternal God, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As always, we thank our Lord Jesus Christ for taking us on this glorious journey, a journey of endless joy, speaking to our hearts and answering the call that he has given us, to do His work according to His ways and will.

We had a good beginning of the year as we were in Flowery, Georgia at Oakwood Baptist Church and Harrisonburg, Virginia at Solid Rock Baptist Church during the month of January; as well as visiting other churches but the weather, on the other hand did not allow us on some days to go anywhere. The month of February has been very slow, just visiting churches to introduce ourselves as well as going back to churches where we have been last year. The Lord is in control and His Holy Spirit is guiding us. As a matter of fact, one of the churches where we have been before, the pastor allowed us to briefly share our testimony and a few days later, the church called  to invite us to participate in their mission conference in March, the first of three this year. We received a new support from Faith Baptist Church in Shelby, North Carolina in January. Earlier in the month of February, Solid Rock Baptist Church voted to partner with us. We also received a love gift from one of the church that we have visited, that love gift was an unexpected  blessing. Praise the Lord for His goodness, mercy and grace. Pictures can be seen on our Facebook page Jean-Claude and Matilde Guilbaud – Missionaries to Costa Rica.

The Lord is Good!

As we press on, please continue to pray for the following prayer request but one in particular, my wife’s physical need with her varicose veins and blood circulation as we traveled as well as my allergies.
