January – February 2018 Prayer Letter – Pdf

Dear Brethren,

Greetings and peace in the name of our eternal God, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As always, we thank our Lord Jesus Christ for taking us on this glorious journey, a journey of endless joy, speaking to our hearts, answering the call that he has given us and accepted the mission that is ahead of us to do His work according to His ways and will.

Beloved Brethren, with the New Year upon us and as we focus our eyes and hearts upon Him to do His work according to His ways and will; and as we delight in the LORD, He will give us the desires of our hearts; and as we commit our ways to the LORD: trust in Him, He shall bring to pass (Psalm 37: 4-5).

As we press on this glorious journey, the months of January and February have been a blessing and very productive. Praise the Lord!

On January 2nd, we headed down to Georgia for meetings, conferences and as well visiting churches. On January 3rd, we visited Colonial Hills Baptist Church in Lithia Springs, GA, Pastor Mark Ernst; as a result we will be going back on February 25 for a formal presentation of our ministry. On January 7, we visited  Lebanon Baptist Church in Roswell, GA, Pastor Brian Peterson and we had the privilege to fellowship with the Spanish church, Pastor Fran Chavarrias a native of Costa Rica, his wife is the daughter of Missionary Danny White in Costa Rica and we stayed at his house when we there. On January 10, we presented our ministry at Bible Baptist Church in Ellijay, GA Pastor James Long, I had the privilege to preach as well, what a blessing! Pastor Long was a missionary in Honduras, C. A. for many years. On January 13 through 18, we had the honor to participate in Old Suwanee Baptist Church Mission Conference 2018 in Buford, GA, Pastor Tim Campbell. We were blessed in a special way. I was honored to preach and present our ministry on the first day of the conference, Sunday the 14th; after the morning and early afternoon service, Pastor Campbell and the church voted to partner with us and be behind our vison. We had a meeting on the 20th at Rock Springs Baptist Church in Cherokee, NC but it was cancelled at the last minute, as a result we visited Berean Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA, Pastor Roger Skepple; during the week we had the privilege to fellowship with the mission Director Brother Wallace Francis and schedule a meeting for July 22 or the 29, the exact day is to be determined.  On the 24th of January, we visited Calvary Baptist Church in Longanville, GA, Pastor Powell. On the 28, we visited Victory Baptist Church in Loganville, GA, Pastor Derick Lawrence, Pastor Lawrence was gracious in allowing us to share briefly our vision and burden; we also had the privilege in meeting the Mission Director Brother Chris Wallace and others of the Global Evangelism Team, what a blessing! We will be going back sometime next January for a formal presentation, the exact date is to be determined. On January 31, we visited Forest Hills Baptist Church in Snellville, GA, Pastor Keith Hamilton and we were invited back for a mission conference in October of this year from the 7th through the 14th.

On February 3rd and 4th, we participated in Mission Emphasis month at Heritage Baptist Church in Locust Grove, GA, Pastor Terrell Hopkins, at the end of the service, the church voted to partner with us to spread the Gospel in Costa Rica. From the 7th to the 11th of February, unfortunately, I got very sick with a very bad case of allergies, we couldn’t go to the following churches scheduled on the 7th at Antioch Baptist Church, Pastor Jared Newlove; neither on the 11th at Pinecrest Baptist Church, Pastor John Anderson, in the morning and McDonough Baptist Church, Pastor James West, in the evening.

On the 12th, we headed back to Virginia for a Mission Conference at Maranatha Baptist Church in Yorktown, VA, Pastor Dale Coffey from the 14th to the 18th, what a blessing!! The church exceeded their Faith Promise. We were supposed to go back to Georgia, Pinecrest Baptist Church, Pastor John Anderson, on the 21st but my wife got sick, as well, so we left on the 23rd, for meeting at Colonial Hills Baptist Church in Lithia Springs, GA , Pastor Mark Ernst which was scheduled for the  25th of February, morning and evening service; we presented our ministry and I had the privilege to preach as well. We also visited Antioch Baptist Church in Jonesboro, GA, Pastor Jared Newlove on Wednesday the 28st, he invited us back in August for a meeting. On the 2nd of March we headed to Madison, Virginia for a Mission Conference scheduled from March 3rd through the 8th at Fellowship Baptist Church, Pastor Dale Freeman.

What blessings we have received during these two months. Glory to God, Praise the Lord, Praise His Holy Name!

We continue praising the Lord for His protection (physical and spiritual) and provision (He knows all our needs) as well as the wisdom that He gives us to do His work. We also praise the Lord that He gives us our health so we can serve Him with all our strength, to adore Him in spirit and in truth with all our hearts, and to glorify Him in everything that we do. The Lord is Good!

As we press on, please continue to pray for the following prayer request, my wife’s physical need with her blood circulation as we traveled and a constant cough that attacks her every now and then.  Also a special request, we need to be on the field by January 2019, Lord willing! We pray that the Lord will move the hearts of His people to make this happen. We humbly plead to all the churches we have presented, and not supporting us at the moment, to pray, consider and reconsider in encouraging us with support.

  • Support Levels

Continue to pray as we are on this glorious deputation journey that the Lord will guide us to the right church and have favor along the way in order to obtain our support as soon as possible according to the Lord’s will. We are now at 53% and it will be more by our next prayer letter. During these two months, that we are aware of, six churches have taken us on for support, three from last year and three this year.

Our Lord is a sovereign, omniscient and omnipotent God. Our minds, our hearts and our spirits are in Costa Rica but our bodies are still here.

  • Safety with Travels

Pray that our Lord, God would protect us on the road.

In March we will be in Virginia, South Carolina and North Carolina; April in South Carolina and Virginia; May in North Carolina; June in North Carolina and Georgia; July in Florida and Georgia; August in Georgia; September in Georgia and South Carolina; October in Georgia; November in Georgia and Virginia; in December it’s still open for now.

  • Schedule of Meetings

Pray that our schedule will be full with formal meetings and conferences for the rest of the year. The Lord has blessed with meetings and conferences  in VA, NC, SC, GA and FL. Our schedule is not full, but praise the Lord for what He is doing in our lives. He is in control! For now, the Lord is still opening doors for more meetings and conferences in these states.

  • Softness of Attitudes

Pray that our hearts would stay soft, to have a humble attitude, to stay close to God, and focus on Him not on men neither our circumstances;  also for the churches that we have been in contact with and presented. We are excited to see on how the Lord will be working during the year, we are also encouraged and at the same time comforted by His provision and protection. Praise the Lord for everything! To God be the Glory, great things He has done, that He is doing and what He will do as we focus our eyes and hearts upon Him.

Thank you for your faithful prayers, kindness and love, but most of all for your sensitivity to the Holy Spirit of God whom dwells in you.

We are deeply grateful for your continued prayers, financial support and being behind our vision to further the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
